PAXTON – Charles J. Scholl, 74, of 6 Streeter Road, died at home on Sunday, June 17, 2007, after an illness.
He leaves his wife of 49 years, Barbara A. (Knight) Scholl; a daughter, Amy A. Halloran and her husband Terence of Northboro; two sons, John A. Scholl and his wife Sherry of San Ramon, CA, and Christopher C. Scholl and his wife Maureen of Northboro; a sister, Jane Tebeau and her husband Jerald of East Grand Rapids, MI; two sister-in-laws, Carole Hogan of North Grafton and Joan Scholl of Grand Rapids; and 10 grandchildren, Kathleen, Kevin, John, Patricia, Daniel, Emily, Kelley, Allen, Garrett and Kendall. His brother, L. Raymond Scholl, predeceased him. He was born and raised in Grand Rapids, son of Louis H. and Emily (Kulhawick) Scholl, and has lived in Paxton for the last 49 years. He was a graduate of Catholic Central High School in Grand Rapids and the University of Michigan where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Metallurgical Engineering.
Mr. Scholl was a Metallurgist for 40 years at Wyman Gordon in Worcester and Grafton, retiring in 1995. He was a member of St. Columba Church where he was a Lector, served on the Parish Council, chaired the Bishop’s Fund and taught in the Confraternity of Christian Doctrine Program. He was President of the American Society of Metals, a member of the Worcester Engineering Society and served on the Town of Paxton Water Board.
Family and friends are invited to calling hours from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 20th, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. The funeral for Mr. Scholl will be held on Thursday, June 21st, from the funeral home with a Mass at 11 a.m. in St. Columba Church, 18 Richards Avenue (Rte. 56), Paxton. Burial will follow in Mooreland Cemetery, 251 Richards Avenue (Rte. 56), Paxton.
