STERLING – Joyce Ellen (Kaempfer) King, 66, beloved wife of Joseph P. King, Jr., passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, October 26, 2019 at Clinton Hospital. Joyce was born in Toronto, Canada, a daughter of Richard and Margaret (Lochridge) Kaempfer.
Joyce’s life was devoted to her family, her pride and joy. Joyce’s favorite pastime was the care and feeding of the many wild birds and animals that surrounded her home in Sterling as well as supporting the Sterling animal rescue shelter.
She will be lovingly missed and remembered by her husband of 46 years, Joseph; her daughter, Caitlin King of Princeton; her two sons, Joseph P. King, III and his wife, Elizabeth of Bolton and Sean R. King and his wife, Binh of Mercer Island, WA; her sister Margaret Harjes and her husband, Donald of Lebanon, NJ; and her six grandchildren, Jude, Jack, Callum and Charlotte King, Joseph Malley and Ryan King. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Carol Boyer of Tucson AZ.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, November 18 at 11 am in St. Richard of Chichester Church, 4 Bridge Street, Sterling. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association. Funeral arrangements are under the care of the Miles-Sterling Funeral Home and Tribute Center, 100 Worcester Rd, Sterling.
