Joyce R. (Lyman) Burnett

BARRE/KEENE, NH - Joyce R. (Lyman) Burnett, 72, passed away on Sunday, January 12th, 2025, at Maplewood Nursing Home in Westmoreland, NH following a brief illness.
Joyce was born in Holden to Clarence R. and Doris (Bassett) Lyman and was a long-time resident of Barre. She was a graduate of the Wachusett Regional High School, class of 1970, and graduated from the Worcester City Hospital School of Nursing in 1975.
Joyce spent her career as a registered nurse specializing in psychiatric medicine, retiring from Worcester State Hospital in 2012. She had a passion for antiques and music, sharing her love of both with her family. Joyce’s vibrant passion for life, her love of baking and candid personality will be remembered lovingly by her family and friends.
Joyce leaves her husband of 40 years, William Burnett; a daughter, Kristen Burnett of Fitzwilliam, NH; a son, Robert Burnett and his wife, Brianna of Mansfield; and her grandchildren, Ian and Lillian. Her brother, Raymond Lyman, and her sister, Tina Forget, predeceased her.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Joyce's family from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, January 20th, at the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Worcester Animal Rescue League online at https://worcesterarl.org/ .
