HOLDEN – Joyce A. (Casavant) Pelletier, died Sunday, April 4, 2004, at home in the presence of her loving family.
Her husband, Gerard C. Pelletier, died in 1976. She leaves a daughter, Mary D. and her husband, Paul V. Murphy, Jr. with whom she lived; a grandson, Ryan P. Murphy of Holden, two granddaughters, Laurie Beth Murphy of Dracut, and Jillian Murphy of Holden; a sister, Lois E. and her husband, Oscar Gebran of Silver Spring, MD; a cousin, Diana Kolesnik of Worcester; several nieces and nephews; and many dear friends including her lifelong friend, Barbara Cheney of Baldwinville. A granddaughter, Meredith Lynn Murphy predeceased her in 1976. Two brothers, Stuart P. and Donald F. Casavant, and a sister, Shirley B. Malmquist, also predecease her. She was born in Brattleboro, Vermont, the daughter of Bernard F. and Elizabeth V. (Larson) Casavant and lived in Auburn and many years in Worcester before moving to Holden.
Mrs. Pelletier graduated from St. Michael’s High School in Brattleboro, Vermont, and went to work for Jellefs in Washington, D.C. She later worked for the Worcester Telegram and Gazette and was a local personal health care facilitator. She was a member of St. George’s Church and a former member of St. Christopher’s Church both in Worcester.
The funeral will be held Wednesday, April 7, from the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. George’s Church, 38 Brattle Street, Worcester. Burial will be private in Morningside Cemetery, Morningside Road, Brattleboro, Vermont. Calling hours are from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 6, in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
