S Helena (Jouhkimo) Puntanen

HUBBARDSTON � Helena (Jouhkimo) Puntanen, 95, of Worcester Road, passed peacefully and quietly from this life to her next journey on Friday, May 21, 2010 in the Baldwinville Nursing Home, Baldwinville/Templeton.
Her husband, Eino N. Puntanen passed away in 1988. She leaves her son, Raimo K. Puntanen and his wife Anne of Rutland; a grandson, Richard Puntanen and his wife Candace of Hubbardston; three great- grandchildren; Chelsea, Brittany and Raimo Puntanen III. Her grandson CPL Raimo K. Puntanen, Jr. was killed in 1985 in a military air crash.
She was born on July 15, 1914 in Finland, one of eight children, all of whom passed away before her. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and mother-in-law who lovingly cared for her family with her cooking and baking, especially her Finnish coffee bread. She was a simple woman with simply values who will be dearly missed.
A private funeral service will be held in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden. The Puntanen family would like to thank the nurses and staff at the Baldwinville Nursing Home for their care of our dear Helena. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Baldwinville Nursing Home, P.O. Box 24, Templeton, MA 01005.
