HOLDEN – Josephine T. (Kaminski) Waskiewicz, 92, of Holden died on Friday, September 9, 2011 at Holden Nursing Home after a battle with cancer. She was born in Worcester on March 2, 1919, daughter of Michael and Antonina (Dusak) Kaminski.
Josephine lived in Holden for over 50 years on Chapel Street, with the last 7 years at Holden Nursing Home. Her husband of 60 years, Frank P. Waskiewicz died in 2008 and her beloved and only child, John Waskiewicz, died in 1993. She is also predeceased by her three siblings, Mary Dowd, Mildred Flansburg and Walter Kaminski. She is survived by her three grandchildren, Dena Lewis of Sutton, Beth Hall of Stafford, Virginia and Keith Waskiewicz of Worcester; 3 great-grandchildren; and many loving nephews and nieces including Roger Dowd, Marie Caron and Charles Flansburg.
Josephine enjoyed being a housewife and for many years she worked part time at Chaffin’s Village Store in Holden. She was a member of St. Mary’s Church in Jefferson.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a calling hour from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, September 13, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, 1326 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. Memorial donations may be made to the St. Mary’s Church Building Fund, P.O.
