Joseph T. Scheinfeldt

September 28, 1944 — May 14, 2018

PAXTON – Joseph T. Scheinfeldt, Jr., 73, passed on Monday, May 14, 2018 at UConn John Dempsey Hospital after an illness. He was born in Boston, the son of Joseph T. and Esther (Sweet) Scheinfeldt and had lived most of his life in Paxton before moving to W. Hartford, CT four months ago.

He will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 51 years, Valerie (Wierzbicki) Scheinfeldt; his sons, Joseph T. “Tom” Scheinfeldt and his wife, Anne of W. Hartford, CT and Eric D. Scheinfeldt and his wife, Kristy of Holden; his brother, Jerry Scheinfeldt of E. Hartford, CT; his sister, Karen Howe of Old Orchard Beach, ME; his four grandchildren, Luke, Kaitlyn, Henry and Andrew; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister in law, Diane Santini.

Joseph owned and operated Rauker, Scheinfeldt and Company, Inc. in Auburn for 42 years before retiring. He was former president of the Auburn Chamber of Commerce and was a former member of the Paxton Finance Committee. He loved to spend time with his family and enjoyed cycling and books.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 5 to7 p.m. today, Thursday, May 17, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden. Funeral services for Joseph will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 18, in the funeral home followed by a committal service at Mooreland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation, Donation Processing, P.O. Box 5014, Hagerstown, MD 21741-5014.
