Joseph F. Lahair

June 11, 1944 — December 12, 2014

HOLDEN - Joseph F. LaHair, 70, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 12, 2014 at Rose Monahan Hospice Home, Worcester, following a courageous nine year battle with cancer.

He was born in Worcester, a son of the late Joseph F. LaHair, Sr. and Mary (Brisebois) (LaHair) and Paul R. Allaire, step-father.



Joe graduated from Wachusett Regional High School and Worcester Junior College, where he earned a degree in business management. He enjoyed long career working in information systems for several companies, including Harrington & Richardson, Inc. in Worcester and New England Firearms and H & R 1871, both in Gardner, where he retired from in 2004 as the manager of information systems. An avid golfer, Joe often played at Kettle Brook Golf Club in Paxton. He also enjoyed playing bocce and was a member of a league in Leominster. He loved Sudoku puzzles.



Joe’s beloved wife of 43 years, Christine A. (Ahearn) LaHair passed away in 2010. He will be missed by his only daughter, Dena M. and her husband, Simon-Peter McDonaugh of Raleigh, NC; his three granddaughters, Saxon Paige, Beatrix Marie and Pippa Louise McDonaugh; his loving friend and companion, Carol A. Murray of Shrewsbury; his aunt, Irene LaHair of Worcester; his many nieces, nephews and dear friends; and his wonderful cat, Barney. He was predeceased by his only sister, Beverly A. LaHair in 1989.



Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Joe’s family on Monday, December 15, from 5-8 p.m. at Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden. His funeral will be held on Tuesday, December 16, from the funeral home with a Holy Mass of Christian Burial offered for the repose of his soul at 10 a.m. at Saint George’s Catholic Church, 38 Brattle Street, Worcester.
