Biography
RUTLAND - Joseph "Joe" J. Lacey of Rutland, passed away peacefully under the loving care of his wife, Susan at Rose Monahan Hospice Home on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 after a long courageous battle with cancer. Born and raised in Worcester, Joe was the son of the late John F. and Beatrice (LeBeau) Lacey and resided in Rutland the past 45 years.
He will be affectionately remembered and missed by his beloved wife Susan G. (Underwood) Lacey; his two sons, David J. Lacey and his wife, Lisa of Holden and Robert J. Lacey and his wife, Rebecca of Bronx, New York; three grandchildren, Ryan, Mariah and Abraham Lacey; and two beloved golden retrievers, Molly and Bailey.
Joe worked as a technician for over 40 years at New England Telephone and later Verizon. He was a member of the First Congregational Church of Rutland and he honorably served in the Massachusetts National Guard with the 181st Infantry.
A funeral service honoring Joe’s life was held privately on Monday, March 13, at the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden. Interment was held at Worcester County Memorial Park, Pasxton.
