Joseph G Jacques, Jr.

WORCESTER - Joseph (Joe) G. Jacques, 86, passed away peacefully on August 21, 2024, at home surrounded by his family. Joe was born in Worcester to the late Joseph and Anna (Menkalis) Jacques.

He is survived by his beloved wife and best friend of 60 years Maureen (Ford), his children Joseph Jacques of Auburn, MA and his partner Meire, James Jacques of Worcester, MA and his partner Dina, John Jacques of Paxton, MA and his partner Mindy, Jennifer Jacques (Speredelozzi) of Northborough, MA and her partner Nicole, his grandchildren Jackie, Kyle, Amanda, Ashley, Andrew, Eve, Juliet, James, and his great grandchild Helene, his sister in law Kathleen (Ford) Foley of Albuquerque, New Mexico, several nieces and nephews and many friends over the years.

Joe graduated from Saint Stephens High School in 1956, New England School of Accounting in 1961 and Clark University in 1971 with a BS/BA degree. He served as a Corporal in the Mass. Army National Guard for six years. Joe worked as an Accounting and Tax Manager for Thom McAn and Melville Corporation for nearly 40 years before retiring in 2001. After retirement, he enjoyed working part-time for four years with Atlantic Bus Co., where he transported special needs children to various schools.

His volunteer work included being Manager of Saint Stephens High School Baseball and Basketball teams, years of coaching all his children's Joe Schwartz Little League Baseball and Softball teams, as well as the Worcester Youth Football League. He enjoyed watching all the local sport teams and rarely missed a game.

Joe was a member of the Auburn/Webster Lodge of Elks and was active at Saint George's Catholic Church as an Usher, Eucharistic Minister, member of its Finance Committee and its Men's Club. Joe was also a member of The Retired Friend's Club of Greendale since 2001 and was a member of the Ambassador Committee and was Assistant Secretary at weekly meetings.

Family and friends will remember enjoying New England camping trips, peaceful summers in Kennebunk, Maine, and vibrant holiday celebrations at home with Joe's dinner blessing of gratitude that we were all together.

Visiting hours with Joe's family are from 4 to 7 pm on Tuesday, August 27, at Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 am on Wednesday, August 28, at St. George Church, 38 Brattle St., Worcester. Interment will follow at St. John's Cemetery in Worcester. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital 508 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
