LEICESTER/WALES – Joseph F. Collins, 63, of 8 Royce Lane, Wales, formerly a 20-year resident of Leicester, died Sunday, April 23, 2006, after a long illness.
He leaves his son with whom he lived, Lee B. Collins and his wife Alicia of Wales; his sunshine grandson, Tucker Lee Collins; a sister, Ginger Banfill and her husband Ken of Ware; a niece and a nephew. He was born in Leicester son of Arthur G. and Mildred E. (Rice) Collins.
Mr. Collins was owner and operator for 30 years of J&B Floorsanding of Worcester, retiring in Hubbardston in 2003. Most recently he worked part-time in the hardware sales dept. of Home Depot in Worcester. He was a member of the Northeast Custom Van's group and was an antique truck collector.
The funeral service for Mr. Collins will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 29, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. Burial will follow in Cherry Valley Cemetery, Leicester. Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, April 28, in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Wales Fire Department, Main Street, Wales, MA 01081.
