WORCESTER – Alyce Johnson, 91, formerly of Rockrimmon Road, died peacefully on Wednesday, November 8, 2006, in Notre Dame Long Term Care Center.
She leaves her brother, George Johnson of South Yarmouth; many nieces and nephews; grandnieces and grandnephews; and cousins. Two brothers, Paul and Harold Johnson and three sisters, Barbara Johnson, Natalie Woodbury and Shirley T. Palmgren, predeceased her. She was born in Lowell, the daughter of Gustave W. and Catherine M. (Cassidy) Johnson, and lived many years in Worcester before retiring and moving to South Yarmouth.
Miss Johnson worked most of her life at West Tatnuck Market, known by locals as “Alyce’s”. She retired in the late 70’s when the store closed. She graduated from North High School in Worcester and was a member of Christ the King Church.
A visitation period will be held from 9 to 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 11, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden, followed by a Mass at 11 a.m. in Christ the King Church, 1052 Pleasant Street, Worcester. Burial will in Hillside Cemetery, Central Street, Auburn. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Notre Dame Long Term Care Center, 559 Plantation Street, Worcester, MA 01605.
