WORCESTER – Daniel John Smith, 40, of Brattle Street, died peacefully at home on Sunday, December 26, 2010, after a long illness. He was born on December 11, 1970 and has lived in Worcester his entire life.
He leaves his parents with whom he lived, Glen R. and Ann M. (Berthiaume) Smith; a brother, Glen D. Smith of Worcester; three sisters, Debra L. Cappuccio and her husband Paul of Rutland, Vicki A. Bissonnette and her husband Scott of Worcester and Tracie L. Thibeault and her husband Keith of Worcester; aunts, uncles, nephews and nieces.

Dan worked as a security guard at J&J Security in Worcester. He enjoyed spending time with his nephews, nieces and his dog, Fudgie, and attending rock concerts. Dan was a very caring person and known for his compassion and generosity.

Immediate family and Dan's close friends are invited to attend private calling hours from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, January 2nd, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, January 3rd, in the funeral home with burial following in St. Mary's Cemetery, 1326 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Massachusetts Veterans' Shelter, Inc., 69 Grove Street, Worcester, MA 01605.
