YARMOUTH PORT/HOLDEN – John K. Ogasian, Jr., age 89, passed away peacefully at home in Yarmouth Port on Sunday, February 2, 2025. Born in Worcester, he was the son of the late John and Mary (Oghgasian) Ogasian.
John grew up in Worcester (Bell Hill) and after high school, went on to graduate from Mass School of Radio and TV in Boston. After graduating, he began repairing appliances and televisions for the family business. He later worked as the manager of audio and visual at UMass Medical Center.
He proudly served his country as a radio relayer in the United States Army Reserves at Fort Dix, New Jersey for more than 5 years.
John enjoyed going to the beach and swimming, especially at Mayflower beach in Dennis. He loved traveling with his wife, Janice, and cruising in the Caribbean was a favorite. As many knew, John loved smoking his pipe. He enjoyed collecting coins and stamps. He read daily and loved to play solitare in his spare time. John was a Mason for more than 50 years and was a member of the First Congregational Church of Holden.
John is survived by his loving wife, Janice (Marion) Ogasian, a daughter, Cindy Landry and her husband, David of Holden; 2 sons, David Ogasian and his wife, Michelle of NC, John Kenneth Ogasian and his wife, Susan of New Braintree; a brother, Harry Ogasian and his wife, Diane of Mashpee; 8 grandchildren, Jason, Keith, Cory, Lileth, Jonathan, Joshua, Kasslyn, and Nicholas,; and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with John’s family from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Wednesday, February 5th, at the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden. A funeral service will take place at 10:00 am on Thursday, February 6th, at the First Congregational Church, 1180 Main St., Holden. Burial will follow at Hope Cemetery in Worcester.
