John T. O'Grady

September 1, 1952 — February 5, 2021

WORCESTER/HOLDEN – John “Jack” T. O’Grady passed away on Friday, February 5, 2021 at Heywood Hospital in Gardner. Born in Worcester, the son of Ralph E. and Nona (Reynolds) O’Grady.

Jack worked for many years in the Laundry Department at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester. He loved vacationing and his family will cherish the memories shared at Hampton Beach, the many cruises, trips to Florida and the trips to Ogunquit, ME, where he and his family would vacation and stay on the Marginal Way. Wherever there was good food, you could find Jack. He loved to dine out at Val’s Restaurant in Holden and the Olive Garden in Worcester. The holidays were important to him for he loved getting together with the family.

He will be remembered for his ability to always stay positive and resilient through the many difficult obstacles he faced throughout his life. Jack was a longtime member of St. Mary’s Church in Jefferson.

He leaves his brother, Ralph J. O’Grady of Holden; his sister, Margaret M. Coffey and her husband, Paul of Worcester; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Robert and Daniel O’Grady; and a sister, Joan Crowley.

Out of concern for family and friends, a funeral service honoring Jack’s life will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in his name may be made to St. John’s Food for the Poor Program, 44 Temple St., Worcester, MA 01604. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Miles Funeral Home, Greater Worcester Funeral Care.
