John 'Jack' M. Lobban

December 27, 1913 — July 5, 2012

HOLDEN, MA / PITTSTON, PA – John “Jack” M. Lobban, 98, formerly of Cook Street, Holden, died peacefully on Thursday, July 5, 2012 at his home in Wesley Village in Pittston, Pennsylvania. Born and raised in Cambridge, Jack was the son of John P. and Mary (Mitchell) Lobban and lived over 30 years in Holden. Jack graduated from Bentley College in Waltham and was an accountant and auditor at State Mutual Life Assurance Co. and Allmerica Financial in Worcester for 50 years.



He is survived and will be lovingly missed by his wife of 64 years, Mae B. (Young) Lobban; her daughter, Joan P. Cohen and her husband Joel of Swoyersville, PA; a sister, Mary Hatfield of Chelmsford; a nephew, David Hatfield of Boxford; and two nieces, Jean and Carol Macinnis, both of Billerica. A brother, George Lobban predeceased him.



Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, July 13, at the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. A funeral service celebrating Jack’s life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 14, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Grove Cemetery, 1296 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. Memorial donations may be made to Chaffin Congregational Church, 155 Shrewsbury Street, Holden, MA 01520.
