Biography


WORCESTER - John F. Mansfield, 65, passed away on Monday, October 17, 2016. John was born in Worcester to William and Catherine (Lyne) Mansfield. He leaves his wife, Hannah (Lichtig) Mansfield; his daughters, Jessica and Stephanie and her husband, Matthew. He is survived by his grandchildren, whom he loved very much. He also leaves his sister, Cathy (Mansfield) Cairns and her husband, David of Northboro; along with John’s nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Ellen Mansfield of Falmouth. John truly loved spending time with his family and friends.

John graduated from St. Peter’s High School and Worcester State College. He worked for Stratus Technologies for over twenty years and UMass Memorial for eleven years. John had a great love for tennis, music, reading, and the beach. He was known for his wonderful sense of humor and extensive knowledge of all things rock and roll. John took great joy in helping others, which he did through his work with Rachel’s Table.

Friends and family are invited to celebrate John’s life on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at Stephanie and Matthew’s home from 2:00 to 6:00PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Rachel’s Table at 633 Salisbury Street, Worcester 01609 or the Worcester Animal Rescue League at 139 Holden Street, Worcester 01606. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Richard Perlman of Miles Funeral Home of Holden.
