Biography
WORCESTER – John Robert “JR” Walls, 46, of Worcester, passed away at Marlborough Hospital on Thursday, January 26, 2012 due to complications from myotonic dystrophy.
JR was born in Worcester, a son of Robert and Jeanne (Bergman) Walls. He is survived by his sister, Jean Marie Keddy of Lafayette, Maine; his aunt, Anna M. (Bergman) Howard and her husband John of Holden; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Two sisters both from Worcester, Patricia “Kelly” Miles died in 2005 and Elizabeth Thorin died in 2009.
He attended the Mercy Centre in Worcester for 40 years. He was kind, loving and considerate and enjoyed the company of others. In 2004, he received the “Key to the City” from then Worcester Mayor Timothy P. Murray for John’s dedication and loyalty to the Mercy Centre.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a calling hour from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, February 1, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden, followed by a procession to St. Mary’s Church, 114 Princeton Street, Jefferson for a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, 162 Webster Street, Worcester. Memorial donations may be made to the Friends of the Mercy Centre, 10 Hammond Street, Worcester, MA 01610.
