HOLDEN – John “Jack” J. Dolan, Jr., 66, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 after an illness. He was born in Worcester, the son of John J., Sr. and Selina (Maher) Dolan and had lived most of his life in Holden.
His loving wife of 34 years, Anne “Annie” E. (Palmer) Dolan, passed away in 2014. He is survived by his sons, Timothy J. Dolan of Dover, VT, Matthew T. Dolan and his wife, Katie (Dufresne) Dolan of Jefferson and Brian J. Dolan of Jefferson; his sisters, Anne Dolan of Worcester, Charlotte Kavanaugh of Darien, CT and Ellen Gardner of Sterling; his grandsons, John and James Dolan; and nieces and nephews.
Jack graduated from Burncoat High School in 1971, was a post graduate of Worcester Boys Trade School, graduated from UMass Amherst and attended Fitchburg State College. He was a machinist and had been working the past seven years at R and D in Northborough. Previously, he worked at Presmet GKN for 32 years and St. Gobain, both in Worcester. Jack was a member of the St. Mary’s Church Knights of Columbus and the St. John Paul II Assembly of the 4th Degree in Townsend. He enjoyed camping, trips to Lake Winnipesaukee, golf, working around the yard and spending time with his loving family.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, May 16th in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 17th at St. Mary’s Church, 114 Princeton Street, Jefferson with a committal service following at St. John’s Cemetery in Worcester.
