WORCESTER – John “Jack” H. Seymour, 69, passed away peacefully at Holden Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center on Sunday, November 12, 2017 after an illness. He was born in Holden, the son of Asa and Lilia (Putaansuu) Seymour.
He leaves his wife, Catherine A. Kearney-Seymour; a son, Shawn R. Seymour and his wife, Anna of Worcester; a daughter, Sheri R. Milliken and her husband, Noel of Worcester; two stepsons, Richard J. Conescu and his wife, Samantha Heighton of Merrimack, NH, and Daniel A. Conescu and his wife, Jenna Brown-Conescu of Merrimack, NH; two sisters, Marion King of Millbury and Jeannie Neally of Florida; his grandchildren, Alec Seymour, Christina Seymour, Brittany Oldenburg, Lane Milliken, Patrick Milliken, and Jessica Milliken; his step-grandchildren, Cameron Conescu, Lillianah Conescu, and Aaron Jacob Conescu; his former wife, Donna M. Seymour of Worcester; and several nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by a sister, Florence Fitts.
Jack attended Wachusett Regional High School and went on to proudly serve his country in the United States Marine Corps. Upon his return, he earned a degree in Civil Engineering from Quinsigamond College. He was a Civil Engineer for the City of Worcester for over 30 years. Previously he worked for many years at Alden Research. Jack enjoyed watching NASCAR and was a true outdoorsman. He could often be found hunting, fishing, and riding his motorcycle. He was a member of the Eight Point Sportsman’s Club in Sterling, and the Worcester HOG. Jack was loyal friend of Bill W. and most proud of his eleven years of sobriety.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 4 to 7 pm followed by a funeral service at 7 pm on Friday, November 17, 2017 in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden. Burial will be held privately at a later date in the Massachusetts Veteran’s Cemetery in Winchendon.
