PAXTON – John E. Plourde, 64, a 37-year resident of Paxton, died peacefully on Friday, May 12, 2006, at home with his loving wife by his side.
He leaves his devoted wife of 42 years, Paulette E. (Jalbert) Plourde; two sons, Michael J. Plourde and his wife Elizabeth, Paul A. Plourde and his wife Karen, and 4 grandchildren, Kara, Laura, Kelley and Henry Plourde all of Worcester. John was born in Manchester, New Hampshire, son of Arthur and Ida (Lariviere) Plourde. He was a graduate of the College of the Holy Cross. He served in the U.S. Navy and reserves aboard the U.S.S. WASP during the Cuban Missile crisis and was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving aboard the U.S.S. Ingraham, retiring as a Lieutenant Commander.
John worked for Paul Revere Life Insurance Company for 30 years. He was a member of Christ the King Church and had a passion for camping, stamp collecting and spending time with his family.
A funeral Mass for John will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, May 17, in Christ the King Church, 1052 Pleasant Street, Worcester. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the VNA Care Network, 120 Thomas St., Worcester, MA 01608-1280. Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden, is directing arrangements.
