HARDWICK – John N. Bishop, Jr., 63, died peacefully at home on Monday, August 5, 2024, surrounded by the loving presence of his family.
Born in Laconia, New Hampshire, John was the son of John N. Bishop and Pamela (Arruda) Sheppard. He graduated from Alvirne High School, eventually pursuing a decades-long career as a Supervisor at TJX Companies in the Shipping/Receiving department. He fell in love with and married Lisa Federici, eventually settling in Worcester where they raised their children.
John was happy on the golf course or with a fishing rod in his hand, or watching or discussing movies with his kids. He was an avid New England sports fan, particularly the Red Sox and Patriots. He was also a dedicated fan of Johnny Cash, Billy Joel, and the Lord of the Rings books and movies.
John will be lovingly missed and remembered by his beloved wife of 29 years, Lisa M.(Federici) Bishop of Hardwick; his children, Nolan Bishop of Athol, Allyson Bishop of Worcester, and Amber Bishop and her husband, T.J. of Manchester, NH, his mother, Pamela(Arruda) Sheppard; His sister; Peggy O’Donnell and her husband, Brian of Wolfeboro, NH; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Robert and Emily (Landers) Federici; his brother-in-law, James Federici and his wife, Ellen of Northbridge; his granddaughter, Parker Lorden; his aunts, Rita Arruda and Bette Pratt and their families; his nieces and nephews, Holly McNamara and her husband, Jon, and her children, Keagan and Colby Szklarz, Kelly O’Donnell, Jared O’Donnell, and Adam Federici; and his step-mother, Patricia Bishop. He was predeceased by his father, John N. Bishop, his brother, Joseph Bishop, his sister, Susan Bishop, his aunt, Patty Bordeau, his uncles, Arthur “Bud” Bishop and Joseph Arruda.
Family and friends will gather for calling hours from 1 to 3 pm on Saturday, August 17th at Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden, with a memorial service following at 3:00 pm. Family will gather on Sunday, August 18th at 1:00 for a graveside service at Union Cemetery in Laconia, NH, where John will be laid to rest in the family plot. A reception will follow at the home of Rita Wetzel, 175 Province St., Laconia NH.
