Johanna (Sikkema) Bennett

OLD LYME, CT/LEOMINSTER – Johanna (Sikkema) Bennett, 80, recently of Leominster, passed away peacefully at her home, on Saturday, September 4, 2011, after an illness. She leaves two daughters, Diana L. Vece and her husband Joseph of Palm Coast, FL, and Maria A. Heskes-Allard and her husband Roger of Princeton; three grandchildren, Daniel Vece, David Vece, and Dina Allard; and several siblings, nieces and nephews in the Netherlands. Her husband, Howard D. Bennett died in August 27, 1993.She was born in Osterwolde, Netherlands, the daughter of Marten and Jantje Sikkema. Johanna was an active member of her shoreline community. She was a member of the Guilford and Old Saybrook, CT, bocce clubs and was an avid bowler. She enjoyed gardening, traveling and loved to spend time with her family and friends.A celebration of Johanna's life will be held on Monday, September 12th at 11:00 a.m. at Tower Hill Botanic Garden, 11 French Drive, Boylston.
