PAXTON/RUTLAND – Joanne M. Suchocki, age 68, passed away in Paxton at her caregiver’s home on Saturday, February 5, 2022. Born in Holden, she was the daughter of William W. and Elaine M. (Barre) Suchocki.
Joanne attended Our Lady of Mercy School in Worcester when she was younger and went on to deliver newspapers and work for the Seven Hills Work Program. She enjoyed listening to music, watching old television shows, and was a true animal lover, delighting in spending time feeding birds through the Audubon Society.
Joanne excelled in track and field in the Special Olympics, earning numerous awards. She further enjoyed traveling and supporting the hometown Rutland Fife and Drum Corps.
Joanne is survived by her two brothers, Daniel Suchocki and his wife, Lila of Rutland, Denis Suchocki and his wife, Christina of Rutland; two sisters, Mary-Joy O’Malley and her husband, David of Rutland, Christine Hunt and her fiancé, Bernard Demers of Rutland. Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her sister, Ann Marie Stukowski.
The family would like to thank Chris and Geralyn Bailey for their care and support of Joanne for over 20 years, and more recently, Greg and Laurie Renshaw.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Joanne’s family from 4:00 to 6:00 pm on Monday, February 7th, at the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:00 am the following day, Tuesday, February 8th, 2022 at St. Patrick’s Church, 258 Main St., Rutland. Burial will be held at a later date at Rural Cemetery in Rutland.
