Joan B. Allen

December 13, 1934 — February 12, 2023

WORCESTER - Joan B. (Grenier) Allen, 88, passed away peacefully at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester after an illness. Born and raised in Worcester, Joan was the daughter of Raymond and Albina (Cisek) Grenier.

She leaves her beloved husband of 67 years, David G. Allen; her three children, Marianne A. Jeneski and her husband Michael Brescia of East Wareham, Suzanne Joslyn of Auburn and William R. Crowe and his wife Nina of Eureka, CA; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; several nephews and nieces. Besides her parents, Joan is predeceased by a brother, Raymond "Skip" Grenier and a sister, Shirley Carter.

Joan was a graduate of Commerce High School in Worcester and worked as a secretary from 1971 to 2001 for the Worcester School Department. Most of her career was spent at Belmont Street Community School.

She was a faithful woman who loved the Lord, her family, church, and community. Joan was a long-time active member at St. George's Catholic Church in Worcester.

The family would like to thank the exceptional St Vincent Hospital staff who treated Joan and her family with kindness and compassion.

Joan's family will receive guests from 10 to 11 am on Saturday, February 18, at St. George Church, 40 Brattle St., Worcester, followed by a funeral Mass at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, Memorial donations may be made to St. George Church 40 Brattle St., Worcester, MA 01520.
