HOLDEN – U.S. Army Master Sergeant (MSG) Stephen J. McFee, 42, of 145 Bullard Street, died on Wednesday, May 23, 2007.
He leaves his wife of 16 years, Tina M. (Johnson) McFee; a daughter, Alicia L. McFee of Holden; two stepsons, Frederick A.J. Winslow, Jr. and Christopher M. Winslow both of North Adams; his mother, Doris H. (Berthiaume) Glass of Pittsfield; a brother, Paul Glass of Pittsfield; two sisters, Karen Boisy of Brookfield and Jennifer Glass of Pittsfield; several nephews and nieces. He was born and raised in Pittsfield, and lived 10 years in the Newburgh, New York area assigned to Poughkeepsie Recruiting Battalion from 1991to 1996, transferred to the 411th CA BN in 1996 to 2001. In 2001 he transferred to the 847th PSB at Ft. Snelling, MN until 2006, arriving to his permanent duty station at the 94th (655th RSG).
Steve graduated in 1984 from Taconic High School, Pittsfield. He received his associate’s degree from Orange County Community College in Newburgh, NY and attended Metropolitan State University in Minnesota. He served 23 years in the United States Army. He was rewarded the Recruiter Ring for his accomplishments in 1996 and received two Meritorious Service Medals, one in 1994, the other in 2005.
He served in Iraq and Kuwaiti Theater of Operation, 2003 to 2004.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 30th, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden. A graveside service with full military honors will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 1st, at Southview Cemetery, North Adams. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St. Framingham, MA 01701.
