PAXTON – Harold J. "Jim" MacQueston, Jr., 65, of 2 Oakwood Rd., and Vinalhaven, Maine, died on Saturday, March 22, 2008 at Brigham and Women's Hospital, Boston after an illness.
He leaves his wife of 28 years, Carole L. (Beaumont) MacQueston; two daughters, Brittany L. MacQueston and her son, Blake of Georgia and Callie L. MacQueston of Vinalhaven; a brother, William D. MacQueston and his wife Janis C. of Williamsburg, VA; two sisters, Ellen M. Adams and her husband Gary P. of Shrewsbury and Judith A. MacQueston of Worcester; and a nephew, Wesley S. Shoreys of Framingham. A brother, Kenneth B. MacQueston, predeceased him. He was born in Worcester, the son of Harold J. and Alice M. (Farrell) MacQueston, Sr., and lived 28 years in Paxton and spent many summers in Vinalhaven as well as last year. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard Reserve from 1961-1969.
Jim graduated from the former St. Stephen's Catholic High School in Worcester and attended Quinsigamond Community College. He was a trailer truck driver for Winter Hill Frozen Foods in Westboro for over 30 years, and most recently for Creative Packaging Co. in Worcester for 10 years. He was a member of St. Columba Church, Rutland Sportsmen's Club, Auburn Elks and the American Legion Post 0018 in Vinalhaven. His many stories and great sense of humor will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, March 27th, at the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. The funeral for Jim will be held on Friday, March 28th, from the funeral home with a Mass at 11 a.m. at St. Columba Church, 18 Richards Avenue (Rte. 56), Paxton. Burial will be held at a later date at Browns Head Cemetery, Vinalhaven.
