WORCESTER – Germaine J. (Hirtle) Larson, 74, of Country Club Blvd., died on Thursday, December 30, 2010 in Saint Vincent Hospital, Worcester after an illness.
She is survived by two sons, Edward D. Larson of Jefferson and Daniel W. Larson of Worcester; three daughters, Elaine D. King and her husband Paul, Diane M. Long and her husband Michael and Linda L. Kent, all of Worcester; five grandchildren, Ashley L. and Brian M. Kent, Jessica and Leila Larson, and Michael Long. She is predeceased by a grandson, James Long. She was born and raised in Worcester the daughter of Edward D. and Germaine (Savageau) Hirtle and had lived in Worcester her entire life.
Ms. Larson graduated from Commerce High School and was a secretary for the Department of Public Works in Worcester for more than 20 years. Her hobbies included crossword puzzles, card games with friends and family and trips to the ocean. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her children and grandchildren and she will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, January 3rd, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. The funeral for Ms. Larson will be held from the funeral home on Tuesday, January 4th, with a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Christopher's Church, 950 West Boylston Street (Rte. 12), Worcester. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, 162 Webster Street, Worcester. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association, 460 Totten Pond Road, Suite 400, Waltham, MA 02451.
