PRINCETON – Helen J. (Gablaski) Siplas, 83, of Princeton died peacefully in her home on Monday, March 19, 2007.
Her husband of 26 years, Donald E. Siplas, died in 1978. She leaves her beloved sister, Evelyn G. LaBree and her husband Everett of Princeton; two sisters-in-law, Ann Gablaski of Spencer and Nancy Dauksz of Oxford; many nephews and nieces. Two brothers, Edward and William Gablaski, predeceased her. She was the daughter of Charles W. and Josephine (Mason) Gablaski and lived in Cherry Valley and many years in Princeton.
Mrs. Siplas graduated from Leicester High School and Salter’s Secretarial School in Worcester. She worked 45 years for State Mutual Life Assurance Company in Worcester, retiring as a department head. She was an active member of Prince of Peace Church and both the Princeton and Hubbardston Senior Citizens.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Sunday, March 25, from 2 to 4 p.m. in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. The funeral for Mrs. Siplas will be held on Monday, March 26, from the funeral home with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Prince of Peace Church, 1 Worcester Road (Corner of Rte. 31 and Mountain Road), Princeton. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, 162 Webster Street, Worcester. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Prince of Peace Church, 5 Worcester Road, Princeton, MA 01541; or the Princeton Police Association, 8 Town Hall Drive, Princeton, MA 01541.
