WORCESTER - Jenny (Levent) Ahtof, 76, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and the heart of her family, passed away peacefully after a courageous 24-year battle with breast cancer. Surrounded by love until the very end, she leaves behind a legacy of strength, kindness, and unwavering devotion to those she cherished most.
Born in Istanbul, Turkey, she was the daughter of Nessim and Rejine (Bahar) Levent. Jenny and her husband Isaac embarked on a journey to a better life, arriving in a new country with a one-year-old child and little more than determination. With relentless perseverance, she learned a new language while supporting her beloved husband, to whom she was married for 44 wonderful years. Fiercely protective of her family, she built a home filled with warmth, laughter, and unconditional love. She lived in Worcester for over 50 years.
Jenny briefly pursued her passion for hairdressing, but soon joined Isaac in running their family business, Elm Park Auto Body on Park Avenue in Worcester. For 30 years, they worked side by side, creating not just a business, but a community of friends and loyal customers. After Isaac’s passing, Jenny retired, dedicating her time to what mattered most—her family.
Her home was a haven where people gathered, drawn in by her legendary cooking. Her baklava was second to none, and guests never left her house hungry. She had a natural green thumb, always surrounded by vibrant plants and flowers. A gifted seamstress, she hemmed clothes for half the neighborhood, and her hands were rarely still—always knitting, crocheting, or creating something beautiful.
Jenny’s humor and radiant smile lit up every room she entered. With twinkling blue eyes full of mischief and love, she had a way of making everyone feel special. A woman of deep faith, she carried a strong belief in God that guided her through life’s joys and challenges.
She leaves behind a family who adored her, carrying forward the lessons of love, resilience, and generosity that she embodied every day. Jenny joins her husband Isaac Ahtof and brother Avraham Levent, who predeceased her. She is mourned by her beloved daughters: Betin (Ahtof) Robichaud and her husband Keith Robichaud of North Smithfield RI, Gina Ahtof of Worcester, MA, her cherished grandchildren Julia and Luke Robichaud, her sisters in law and nieces and nephews in Istanbul, Turkey and many cousins and friends.
Though she will be deeply missed, her spirit will live on in the countless lives she touched. Family and friends will gather to honor Jenny’s memory at a Funeral Service at 10:00 AM on Monday, March 31 at Congregation Beth Israel, 15 Jamesbury Drive, Worcester. Interment will follow at Holy Society Cemetery, Havana Road, Leicester. Shiva will be at the family residence from 2:00 - 8:00 PM on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
