HOLDEN - Jennie Lee (Bartlett) Hahl, 79, died on Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at Saint Vincent Hospital, Worcester. She was born in Burgaw, NC, a daughter of the late Lemuel L. and Mildred (Savage) Bartlett.
Jennie was raised in North Carolina and attended UNC at Chapel Hill. She completed her degree at Clark University after moving to Massachusetts. Jennie worked in the insurance industry during her career, first with the Insurance Company of North America and then with Hanover Insurance, where she retired from in 2001 as a systems coordinator. She enjoyed knitting and weaving, was a wonderful cook and a voracious reader. She and her husband also enjoyed travelling, especially to the Far East. Jennie was dedicated to her family and truly enjoyed the Christmas holiday and creating special memories for her family.
She leaves her beloved husband of 57 years, Fred H. Hahl; her cherished daughter, Mitsn Marie Nelms and her longtime companion, Steven Pebley; her grandson, Jonathan B. Nelms, whom she adored; and her sister, Mitsn Bartlett Mitchell; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Jennie's family on Sunday, October 18, from 2-4 p.m. at the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden (casual dress is encouraged). Services and burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 20 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
