MARLBOROUGH/RUTLAND – Jeannette C. (Lucier) McLellan, 88, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 11, 2016 at Rose Monahan Hospice Home in Worcester after an illness. She was born in Marlborough, the daughter of Fred and Loretta (Wood) Lucier and lived most of her life there before moving to Rutland. Her loving husband of 65 years, Neil D. McLellan, passed away in 2011. She leaves her children, Donna Woodward and her husband, Glenn of Sandwich, Mary Ann Jordan and her husband, Dana of Barre and Dana McLellan and partner, Susanne of Worcester; her brother, Richard Lucier and his wife, Claire of Marlborough; three grandchildren, Jessica Woodward of Shrewsbury, Alexis James and her husband, Nick of Holden and Brett Jordan of Barre; two great grandchildren, Mason and Madison James; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Dennis McLellan; a sister Elaine Palam and two brothers, Ralph Wood and Ernest Lucier. Jeannette graduated from Marlborough High School, class of 1946 and married her sweetheart, Neil on Oct. 6, 1946. She was a devoted wife, loving mother and enjoyed spending time with her family. She was an artist, poet and an avid reader. Her many beautiful paintings, drawings, stained glass pieces and poetry will be forever cherished by her family. Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 14, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden. Funeral services for Mrs. McLellan will be held on Friday, July 15, from the funeral home with a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Patrick’s Church, 258 Main Street, Rutland. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Marlborough.
