Life Legacy

LEOMINSTER – Jeanette Lenora (Arell) Morin, 98, of Leominster, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 5, 2015 in the presence of her loving family at the Life Care Center of Leominster. She was the devoted wife for 70 years of Joseph (Armand) R. Morin.   Born in Worcester and raised in Jefferson, Jeanette was the daughter of Louis A. and Lena (Delude) Arell. Jeanette graduated from Holden High School in 1934 and worked as a nanny for several families, a postal clerk at the Jefferson Post Office, in the Jefferson Woolen Mill office, and as paymaster at Rockwood Sprinkler before having children. She was a consummate military wife and mother during Joseph’s 34-year Air Force career. In addition to Massachusetts, they lived in California, Illinois, South Carolina, Germany, Florida, and Virginia before finally settling in Leominster, MA in 1985.Jeanette will be lovingly remembered by her husband, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and others who were like children and grandchildren to her. Jeanette loved to discuss politics and was an avid sports enthusiast following and cheering on all of the Boston/New England teams, especially the Patriots. She was an amazing cook and loved to share her recipes and teach others, enjoyed hosting her family and friends, and was gracious to everyone she knew and met.   In addition to her husband, she leaves her son, Roger A. Morin and his wife, Ann of Baltimore, Maryland; two daughters, Lenore R. Souza and her husband, Mark of Westford, Massachusetts, and Michele M. Doody and her husband, John of Damascus, Maryland; ten grandchildren, Alicia Gilroy-Scott and her husband, Peter, Craig Morin and his wife, Sarah, Andrew Morin, Peter Morin and his wife, Luki, Matthew Souza, Timothy Souza and his wife, Ashley, Daniel Souza, Katherine Souza, Ian Doody, and Julia Doody; and six great-grandchildren, Evan, Audrey, Leela, Margot, Isa, and Abigail. She is also survived by her sister, Rita (Arell) Nygard of Jefferson and several nephews, nieces, and cousins. She was predeceased by her brothers, Rene and Richard Arell, and her sister, Lorraine (Arell) Fleming.   Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Jeanette’s family from 9:00-10:00 a.m. on Monday, January 4, 2016 at the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden, followed by a procession to St. Mary’s Church, 114 Princeton Street, Jefferson, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Massachusetts Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Winchendon.
