Jean M. Wardzala

January 6, 1932 — May 17, 2024

Jean M. Wardzala, 92, of Paxton, passed away on May 17, 2024, joining our Heavenly Father. She was the loving and wonderful wife of Edward M. Wardzala.

She was born in Worcester on January 6, 1932, the daughter of Alice and George Favreau. Jean graduated from the Classical High School and later earned a bachelor's degree in education from Worcester State College.

After college, Jean taught elementary students in Shrewsbury before transitioning to a stay-at-home mom for her three children Susan, Steven, and Carole.

Jean enjoyed sports and played tennis, field hockey, and basketball in high school. Later she got involved in golf, racquetball, and bowled in several leagues. She was a long-time member of the First Friday Club and the Guild of Our Lady of Providence which perform many charitable works.

Many years were spent visiting Cape Cod and Maine with frequent trips to Florida to spend time with good friends. She was very fond of traveling to Bermuda, so fond she visited thirty-eight times.

Despite her passion for her traveling, she loved her home and was a meticulous housekeeper, enjoying the simple pleasures that come with keeping a home.

She is predeceased by her parents, Alice and George Favreau and her brother, Robert Favreau.

Jean is survived by her husband of sixty-five years, Edward M. Wardzala, her children; Susan, Steven, and Carole.

A private service was held, followed by her burial at Mooreland Cemetery in Paxton, MA. Funeral services were arranged by Miles Funeral Home.

May God bless you and keep you.

Jean's family wishes to express heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated staff at Holden Rehabilitation and Notre Dame Hospice for their extraordinary care and kindness during this difficult time.
