WORCESTER – Jean M. (Lech) Anderson, 66, of Worcester, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, January 22, 2012, after a long battle with cancer.
She leaves her loving husband and faithful companion of 22 years, Brack “Tom” Anderson; three children, Michael J. Lamb, Justina M. Hunter and James M. Lamb all of Worcester; two grandchildren; several nephews and nieces.
Jean was born in Palmer, the daughter of Walter P. and Virginia J. (Holcomb) Lech and had lived in the Thorndike section of Palmer before moving to Worcester in 1966. She worked at the Department of Agricultural Rural Development Office in Holden for twenty-five years retiring due to her illness. Jean loved to play bingo every week and developed many close friendships over the years. She will be sadly missed by all that knew her.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, January 25, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. Funeral services for Jean will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 26, in the funeral home followed by a committal service at Hope Cemetery, 119 Webster Street, Worcester. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
