HOLDEN - Jean C. (Tidman) Johnson passed away quietly on December 5, 2024, after a period of declining health. Born in Worcester Massachusetts, September 19, 1926, she was the daughter of Edward C. Tidman and Gurly L (Bottcher) Tidman.
Jean lived most of life in Holden and graduated from Holden High School in 1944. She married her high school sweetheart the former Holden Town Selectman, Robert V. Johnson. After retirement, Jean and Bob lived in Manomet, Massachusetts until Bob’s passing in 2016, when Jean moved to Bedford, New Hampshire.
Jean will be remembered by her daughters, Kathleen (William) Shivitz of Renton, Washington, Kristina (Robert) Doucette of Manchester, New Hampshire, and Pamela (James) Manocchi of Bedford, New Hampshire.
She also leaves her grandchildren Robert (Nicole) Shivitz, Thomas (Diane) Shivitz, Linnea (Ben) Couture, Amy (Brian) Barrett, Lisa (Brian) Cox and Alex (Chelsea) Manocchi. Jean was blessed with 17 great-grandchildren.
There will be no services. A private burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the care of Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Jean’s name to Friends of Bowman Place (
