HOLDEN – Jean G. (Giguere) Stocks, 80, of Surrey Lane, died unexpectedly on Saturday, October 24, 2009 in UMass Memorial Healthcare, Worcester.
She leaves her husband of 56 years, E. Gordon Stocks, Jr.; a son, E. Gordon Stocks III and his wife Judith of Jefferson; a daughter, Mary Ellen Stocks and her husband Carl W. Oehrle of Morristown, VT; 3 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter. She was born in Bristol, Connecticut the daughter of Raymond R. and Alida M. (Simard) Giguere and lived in Holden for 41 years.
Jean attended Albertus Magnus College and graduated from the University of Connecticut, with a Bachelors Degree in Social Sciences. She managed the medical offices of Dr. Blake and Dr. Cannon in Holden for many years. She was a member of St. Mary’s Church in Jefferson.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, October 30th in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 12A), Holden. The funeral will be held on Saturday, October 31st, from the funeral home with a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary’s Church, 114 Princeton Street, Jefferson. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Holden. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Heifer Project International, 1 World Avenue, Little Rock, AR 72202.
