RUTLAND/WORCESTER – Brenda J. (Dwyer) Boehnke, 65, of Main Street, Rutland and formerly of Worcester, died peacefully in her home on Wednesday, August 10, 2011, under the loving care of her family and the staff of UMass Memorial Hospice.
She is survived by her husband and best friend of 27 years, John P. Boehnke; two sons, Brian R. Ford and Kevin M. Ford, both of Worcester; two step-daughters, Tara M. Gazda and her husband Steven of Westfield and Liza J. Noyes of Rutland; a brother, Daniel Dwyer of Bourne; a sister, Claire Carey of Athol; 8 grandchildren, Nicole, Tia, Kevin, Savannah, Haleigh, Colby, Jacalyn and Macenzie. A grandson, Trevor, predeceased her.
Brenda was born in Greenfield, daughter of Bertrand F. and Margaret (Guignard) Dwyer and lived in Millbury, Florida and Worcester before moving to Rutland two years ago. She was raised in Athol and was a graduate of Athol High School. She spent most of her career as a payroll clerk for various local companies. Brenda enjoyed playing bingo, trips to Foxwoods with her husband, flea markets, walking the beaches in Florida and spending time with her grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, August 12, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. A private graveside service will be held at Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton at the convenience of the family. Donations in Brenda's memory may be made to the Disabled American Veterans, P.O.
