STERLING – Michael J. Donohue, 68, of 7 John Christian Way, died peacefully at home on Friday, August 21, 2009.
He leaves his wife of 21 years, Julie A. (Coiteux/Kristoff) Donohue; three daughters, Lauren A. Donohue at home, Caitlin (Donohue) Hoffman and her husband Tony of Hubbardston and Megan Donohue; two grandchildren, Ashley and Anthony Hoffman; two nieces and several cousins. He was born in Worcester, son of F. Joseph and Frances M. (Downey) Donohue, was raised and lived on Pleasant Street in Worcester until moving to Sterling over 12 years ago.
Michael was a graduate of St. Francis High School in Biddeford, Maine and Leicester Junior College. He was owner and operator of Alltec Industries, a gate and security company for the last 17 years. He was the original owner of Tammany Hall on Pleasant Street in Worcester and previously was the creative partner in a Worcester-based pub/restaurant.
He earned his real estate license and received his brown belt in karate. He was an avid hockey player in both high school and college, a skier and was a tournament winning racquetball player. He was a member of St. Richard of Chichester Church in Sterling.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, August 25th, in the Miles-Sterling Funeral Home, 100 Worcester Road (Rte. 12), Sterling. A funeral will be held on Wednesday from the funeral home with a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Richard of Chichester Church, 4 Bridge Street, Sterling. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Clinton Road (Rte. 62), Sterling. In lieu of flowers, donations in Michael's memory may be made to Why Me?
