HOLDEN – Bonnie J. (Hendrickson) Christenson, 54, of Bull Run, Holden, passed away on Wednesday, May 26, 2010 after a long battle with ovarian cancer.
She leaves her husband of 37 years, Gary A. Christenson; her parents, Robert G. and Nancy M. (Rosenlund) Hendrickson of Rutland; two sons, Giles A. Christenson and his wife Chelsea of Northborough and David J. Christenson and his wife Amy of Templeton; three daughters, Lily X, Iree V. and Callie M. Christenson all at home; a brother, Robert G. Hendrickson of Oakham; two sisters, Robin Johns and Tina Allaire, both of Rutland; a granddaughter, Savanah R. Christenson of Northborough; and her mother-in-law, Barbara Ann (LaVoie) Christenson of Holden. A daughter, Keysha T. Christenson, passed away in 1999.
Bonnie was born on October 14, 1955 in Worcester. She was a 1973 graduate of Wachusett Regional High School and a 1992 graduate of Worcester State College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education. She was a first grade teacher at Davis Hill Elementary School in Holden. She is a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and was director of their pre-school program for over 20 years. Other than her love for her family, her greatest love was teaching young children.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, May 28, 2010 in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. Bonnie's funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. on Saturday, May 29th, in Immanuel Lutheran Church, 346 Shrewsbury Street, Holden. Burial will follow in Grove Cemetery, Holden. In lieu of flowers, her family suggests donations be made to the Perkins School for the Blind, 175 North Beacon Street, Watertown, MA 02472.
