WEST BOYLSTON – Paul J. Brazeau, 77, of Franklin Street, died peacefully on Saturday, August 15, 2009 in Radius Healthcare, Worcester after an illness.
He leave his wife of 53 years, Gail A. (Tunstall) Brazeau; a son Robert, P. Brazeau of Worcester; two daughters, Paula E. Gould of Leominster and Suzanne E. Brazeau of West Boylston; three grandchildren, Melissa Vautour, Cassandra Brazeau and Christopher Gould; twin grandsons, Nathan and Joseph Vautour; and a sister-in-law, Theadora Brazeau of Shrewsbury. His son, Michael W. Brazeau died in 1974. Two brothers, Robert B. and William B. Brazeau also predeceased him. He was born in Worcester the son of Homer and Stella V. (Maloney) Brazeau and lived in Shrewsbury and later 53 years in West Boylston.
Paul graduated from Shrewsbury High School and attended the Culinary Institute of America in New Haven. Paul, along with his wife Gail, managed and operated the Franklin Manor Restaurant in West Boylston for 25 years, where he worked for 40 years.
He was a Korean War veteran and served in the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church and enjoyed golfing and woodcarving. Paul's family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the staff at Summit ElderCare in Worcester for their compassion and support throughout his illness. He was a friend of Bill for over 20 years as well as a longtime cancer survivor.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday, August 17th in the Miles-Sterling Funeral Home, 100 Worcester Road (Rte. 12), Sterling. The funeral will be on Tuesday, August 18th, from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 111 Worcester Street, West Boylston. Burial will follow in Mt. Vernon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pan-Mass Challenge, c/o Suzanne E.
