RUTLAND – Jayne L. (Haney) Goodnow, 50, of 29 Juniper Lane, died Saturday, October 23, 2004, in the presence of her loving family after a five year battle with cancer.
She leaves her mother, Matilda “Tillie” A. (Martelli) Haney; two brothers, Thomas E. Haney of Hyde Park, Vermont, and Stephen D. Haney of York, Maine; two sisters, Rita J. Quist of Rutland and Josephine V. Dupal of Lisbon Falls, Maine; six nieces and two nephews; three grandnieces and four grandnephews; and her long time companion, Gerald Hilsman of Webster. She was born in Holden, daughter of the late Thomas N. Haney, and lived all of her life in Rutland.
Jayne attended Wachusett Regional High School in Holden and graduated from Worcester Girls Trade High School with a concentration in culinary arts. She was a baker for many years and worked at the former Rutland Heights Hospital, the Bagel Inn in Holden and most recently Darby’s Bakery in West Boylston. She was a member of the First Congregational Church of Rutland and the Massachusetts Retirees Association.
A memorial service for Jayne will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, October 26, in the First Congregational Church of Rutland, 264 Main Street, Rutland. Burial will be private in Rural Cemetery, Rutland. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Congregational Church, P.O.
