STERLING -- Jason C. Bolack, 39, a remarkable individual - intelligent, kind, and caring, always ready to lend a helping hand to friends and family, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, January 29th, 2024. Born in Worcester, Jason was the beloved son of Cathy R. (Smith) Oliveri and the late Philip Bolack.
Jason is survived by his mother and stepfather, Cathy and David Oliveri of Hubbardston; stepmother Patty Bolack of Sterling; his sister Michelle Oliveri of Leominster, a grandfather, Francis Heffron of Sherborn; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Besides his father, Jason is predeceased by his infant son, Kylo Bolack. He also leaves his wife, Amy K. Bolack of Spencer.
He earned a bachelor's degree in accounting from UMass Dartmouth and began his career with DCU before moving on to GFA Credit Union, where he swiftly rose to a Managerial role in 2012. Simultaneously, he dedicated his time to Sterling Animal Shelter, initially part-time and later transitioning to a full-time position. His passion for animals and commitment to their well-being endeared him to the shelter staff. Jason was particularly fond of organizing puppy runs to the airport, ensuring the safe and cozy return of shelter puppies, witnessing their joyful adoption into loving homes. In his most recent role at Mid Cape Home Centers, Jason earned respect and admiration from his colleagues.
Jason found joy in playing video games, riding his motorcycle, and working outdoors. However, his greatest happiness was found in the company of his beloved dog, Red, whom he couldn't resist bringing home from a shelter airport puppy run in February 2014. Red will deeply miss him.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Jason's family from 3:30 to 5:30 pm on Thursday, February 8th, at Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St. in Holden, followed by a service honoring and celebrating his life at 5:30 pm. at the funeral home.
