PAXTON - Janice Stewart, 91, a long time resident of Paxton, MA died on March 23, 2022 in her apartment at Briarwood Community after a period of declining health. Janice was born on June 17, 1930 and raised in Worcester, attending Midland Street School and Classical High School. She was the daughter of Dorothy and Paul Savage.
Her husband of 65 years, Robert L. Stewart, died in 2015. She leaves her son Bruce Stewart and his wife Linda of Hyannis, MA and her daughter Denise Stewart-Sanabria and her husband Roberto of Knoxville, TN. She leaves two grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Her sister Audrey Gustafson lives in Central Point, Oregon.
Janice was an active member of Paxton Congregational Church for many years, singing in the choir, and was a former member of the Paxton Women’s Club. She had a love of classical music and was a former member of the Worcester Music Guild. Janice had a fondness for siamese cats and was the proud owner of a John Deere tractor that she rode to maintain the five acre lawn on her Paxton property.
A memorial gathering and reception honoring Janice's life will be held for family and friends at 65 Briarwood Community in Worcester on Saturday, April 9, 2022 at 12:00 noon. A private committal service will be held at Mooreland Cemetery in Paxton. Arrangements are through Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden.
