HOLDEN - Janice "Jan" Anderson Maki, 85, of Holden, MA passed away on September 20, 2021. Jan was born July 31, 1936 in Worcester, MA. She was the daughter of the late Florence and Bill Anderson.
Jan is survived by her longtime love Allen Smith of Holden, MA; her son Jon Maki and his wife Karla; her daughter Jill Glidden and her partner Frank; her daughter Jennifer Blake: her brother-in-law and two nieces; her 6 grandchildren and their spouses, and 7 great grandsons. Jan always let her family know how much she loved them and how proud she was of them. She will live on through the countless memories we were lucky to have made and shared with her.
Jan was preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, Henry "Hank" Maki, her brother Don Anderson, and her sister-in-law Ruth Miller.
Jan was a remarkable woman. She found her longtime love Hank at the young age of 14. They spent over 50 wonderful years married, building a very close knit family full of traditions. It was one of their goals to have a summer home together that they would be able to share with future generations of their family. They were successful in this endeavor, purchasing their "Camp" in East Wakefield, NH in 1986. They, together with their family, made Camp into a home away from home. After Hank's passing, she found love again with her sweetheart, Allen. Jan and Allen remained very active together. She considered herself extremely lucky to have found such great love twice during her lifetime.
No services are being planned at this time. In lieu of flowers, you can complete an act of kindness in Jan's name to help make this world a better place in her memory. Her family requests that if you have any special memories of Jan please share them. Although Jan will be sorely missed, she would want her life to be celebrated.
