Janice R. (Mallin) Evanowski
April 14, 1939 — March 4, 2022
HOLDEN – Janice R. (Mallin) Evanowski passed away peacefully at home on Friday, March 4, 2022 with her loving husband by her side. Born in Worcester, she was the daughter of the late Leo R. and Rita (Harnois) Mallin.
Janice graduated from Commerce High School and shortly thereafter worked as an Executive Secretary at Norton Company in Worcester where she met and fell in love with Walter Evanowski. The two were married in 1967 and started their family in Worcester before residing in Holden.
Janice and her husband started Evanowski Insurance Agency in Worcester, which later became North American Insurance Agency, Inc., where she was a bookkeeper and worked in customer service. She enjoyed traveling all over the Caribbean, her numerous trips to Cape Cod and 50 years of vacationing in Lake George, NY. Her crossword puzzle and jeopardy skills were second to none. Her family will cherish the memories of her delicious meatloaf and spaghetti and meatball dinners.
She will be remembered for her profound love for her family, positive attitude and delightful meals forever.
Janice is survived by her husband of 54 years, Walter Evanowski, Jr. of Holden; two sons, Michael L. Evanowski and his wife, Amy of Holden, Matthew W. Evanowski and his wife, Melanie of Holden; her sister, Linda J. Cummings and her husband, Clifford of Moodus, CT; and three grandchildren, Michael L. Evanowski, Jr., Maya Rose Evanowski and Cooper Matthew Evanowski; and several nieces and nephews.
There are no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 am on Thursday, March 10th at the Immaculate Conception Parish, 353 Grove St., Worcester, with burial following at Notre Dame Cemetery, 162 Webster St., Worcester. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her memory may be made to the United Service Organizations, Inc. (USO) online at https://secure.uso.org/?sc=WEBDONATE&show_amount=true .
