HOLDEN – Janetta Paulina (Kriscunas) Petkus, 83, of 32 Brewer Way, died Monday, May 1, 2006, in the Coleman House, Northborough, after a long illness.
Her husband of 39 years, Albert Petkus, Sr., died in 1979. She leaves her daughter with whom she lived, Janetta Petkus; her son, Albert Petkus, Jr. of Sutton; four grandchildren, Neil, Adam, Beth and Todd; a niece, Patricia; three nephews, Walter, Mickey and Robert; and a longtime friend, Julie Mankowsky of Holden. She was born in Old Furnace (Hardwick), daughter of Joseph and Kazimiera (Karlikauskas) Kriscunas, and lived in Worcester before moving to Holden in 1980. She was a graduate of Commerce High School.
Mrs. Petkus was a Medical Transcriber and Executive Secretary for UMass Memorial. Previously she worked at Worcester City Hospital and International Dictating Services. She was a member of the Mass. Audubon Society and Friends of the Holden Council on Aging. She enjoyed ethnic and ballroom dancing, chess, knitting, bowling, billiards, languages and hiking.
Memorial calling hours for Mrs. Petkus will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. with a memorial service at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday, May 4, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. Private burial will be in Grove Cemetery, 1290 Main Street, Holden. Please omit flowers.
