WORCESTER – M. Janet (Cherry) Solaperto, 82, of Worcester, died Friday, March 2, 2007 in the Autumn Village, Worcester.
Her husband of 54 years, Louis J. Solaperto, died in August of 2004. She leaves her son, John A. Solaperto of Worcester; her daughters, Louise M. Solaperto and her fiancé Gerald Picchierri and Jeana A. Garoulis and her husband Billy all of Worcester, and Mary-Ellen Veraldi and her husband Thomas of Laughlin, Nevada; a brother, Gordon Cherry and his wife Marie of Worcester; and her beloved grandchildren, Alicia Veraldi, Thomas Veraldi and Jasmine Solaperto, and great-grandsons, Nicholas, Riley and Kyle Veraldi and Chello and Angelo Solaperto. Her sister, Muriel Bergeron predeceased her.
Mrs. Solaperto was born in Worcester, daughter of Gordon A. and Mary M. (Murphey) Cherry, and was a life long resident of Worcester. She worked for Sprague Electric for 20 years, retiring as a supervisor. After retirement she worked for 10 years at Fleet Bank. She was an accomplished knitter and baker and shared her creations with family and friends. Most of all she treasured her five great-grandsons.
The funeral for Mrs. Solaperto will be held on Tuesday, March 6, from the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden, with a Mass at 11 a.m. in Our Lady of Rosary Church, 23 Fales Street, Worcester. Spring burial will be in Rural Cemetery, Rutland. Family and friends are invited to calling hours from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday, March 5, in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to VNA Care Hospice, 120 Thomas Street, Worcester, MA 01608-1280.
