HOLDEN – Janet E. (Blanchard) Westerback, 72, passed away on Monday, October 1, 2012 at UMass Memorial Healthcare – Memorial Campus after an illness.
She leaves a daughter, Dawn-Marie Fallon and her husband William of Mashpee; three grandchildren, Kaleigh, Kyle and Kira; her companion, Walter Osipov of Barre; several beloved cousins including, Edward Blanchard and his wife Mary of Hubbardston and Marilyn Burnham and her husband Bernie of Holden; her former husband, Richard L. Westerback of Holden; and several first cousins once removed.
She was born in Worcester, the daughter of Willard C. and Lois (Naas) Blanchard and lived in Holden for most of her life. A stay at home mom, she previously worked a short time at Holden Hospital and Norton Company in Worcester. She was a member of the Freedom Worship Center in West Boylston and was an avid cat lover.
The family would like to thank Janet’s long time neighbors, Stephen and Nancy Ericson, for the care and friendship they have shown to the family over the years.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a calling hour on Thursday, October 4, from 11 to 12 noon at the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden, followed by a graveside service at 12:30 p.m. at Hope Cemetery, 119A Webster Street, Worcester. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mt. Wachusett Veterinary Hospital, 160 Shrewsbury Street, Holden, MA 01520. Arrangements are under the care of Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden.
