RUTLAND/HOLDEN - Janet L. (Arnberg) Sundquist, 82, of Rutland and formerly of Holden, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, February 13, 2016 after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Worcester and raised in the Greendale section of the city, Janet was the daughter of Victor N. and Asta V. (Olson) Arnberg and lived 44 years in Holden before moving to Rutland in 2003.
Janet graduated from Commerce High School in Worcester and worked in the accounts payable department at Norton Company in Worcester for 25 years retiring in 1994. Previously, she worked several years at Crown Bakery in Worcester. Janet was a member of Greendale Peoples Church in Worcester and enjoyed playing cribbage and pitch at the Rutland Senior Center. Her favorite pastimes were knitting and spending time with her daughters and friends.
Her loving husband of 38 years, Paul W. Sundquist died in 1991. She leaves her daughters, Susan J. Sundquist and Cynthia L. Ryan both of Rutland; and her best buddy and kitty, "Punky Brewster."
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Janet's family from 4 to 7 pm on Thursday, February 18, at the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, February 19, at the Greendale People's Church, 25 Francis Street, Worcester. Interment will be held privately at Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Janet's favorite charity, Neady Cats, Inc., P.O.
